Women’s Nonprofit Leadership Initiative Launches Redesigned Website

PHILADELPHIA, PA – August 27, 2023 – In its continued commitment to championing board diversity and institutional performance, the Women’s Nonprofit Leadership Initiative (WNLI) proudly announces the launch of its newly redesigned website.

Since its inception in 2012, WNLI has been at the forefront of advancing gender diversity on the boards of universities and healthcare systems, known as the “eds and meds.” Originally focusing on the Greater Philadelphia region, WNLI, under the vision of its late founder Dr. Happy Fernandez, has grown to collaborate on national fronts since 2020. Their tireless work, which includes offering indispensable information about the representation of women and people of color, is a testament to their dedication to bridging existing representation gaps on boards.

The website redesign, executed by Samantha Digital LLC, offers an immersive experience, seamlessly guiding users through WNLI’s mission, ongoing initiatives, and vast resources. Through this digital platform, visitors can glean a deeper understanding of WNLI’s pivotal role in ensuring governing boards across the U.S. truly reflect the diverse makeup of their stakeholders.

Central to the newly launched website is the “Open Letter to the IRS,” an initiative taken in June 2023 by the Coalition for Nonprofit Board Diversity Disclosure. The letter, undersigned by over 140 esteemed leaders from across the nation, asserts the public’s right to access accurate board demographic information for heightened institutional accountability. WNLI invites all to add their voices by signing this landmark letter via their website.

Additionally, the website offers an intimate glimpse into the backbone of WNLI – its members. Comprising a robust collective of dedicated female leaders, these individuals embody the organization’s vision, mission, and beliefs. Their profiles and accomplishments, available for viewing, underscore the potency of united women in the drive for equitable board representation.

For those seeking further insight into WNLI’s endeavors, or looking to join the organization in its mission, the redesigned website stands as the primary gateway: https://wnli.org/
